Rhythm Rookies
The all new, re-imagined Rhythm Rookies is from 5:00 to 6:00pm, free for parents & children birth through pre-school.
Who
Rhythm Rookies is for children from birth through pre-school, accompanied by a parent or guardian. Because music & movement promotes bonding and trust, an adult should accompany each family at Rhythm Rookies (a dad can participate alone with his newborn son and 3 year-old daughter).
What
Trained and certified music teacher Erynn Anderson leads the team that teaches Rhythm Rookies. You and your child will engage in musical activities including steady beat, fast and slow, loud and soft, high and low, and musical movement. Using drums, a variety of unpitched percussion, and a combination of recorded and live music, Mrs. Anderson will guide parents and children in musical games and activities, customized to each child's age and skill level.
When
Sundays during the school year from 5:00 to 6:00pm.
Where
At Northside in the children's building, room A111.
Why
The benefits of music begin at birth, as children encounter melody, rhythm, and play through skilled teaching, other children, and you. Musical activity promotes brain development, creativity, team-work, responsibility, group-skills, self-control, and self-expression. At Northside, we infuse music with the truth and beauty of Christ as revealed in scripture, thus developing a soundtrack-for-life for each child we encounter.
