Special Events

There's a lot going on around Northside for kids. Here's a couple things we're up to...

Parent-Child Dedication

Several times a year, parents and the entire church family celebrate the addition of a new child to the family, committing together to raise children God's way. This is a class and dedication for parents who want to commit themselves and their children to God, promising to raise them up in the Lord. The church body commits to support parents in the faith development of their child for the duration of the journey. Parents are invited to attend a one-night seminar and learn how to become primary faith-trainers for their children. Resources and learning opportunities are provided for the new parents desiring to dedicate their child to the Lord. Schedule your appointment by email today.

New Christian Class

This five-week class provides a systematic plan for children who have made professions of faith, are awaiting baptism, or who have recently been baptized, or for children who are simply asking questions. The class explores how to become a Christian, what baptism means, why we participate in the Lord's Supper, what it means to be a church member, and how to develop a habit of daily Bible reading and prayer. The class requires a small time commitment at home each week, allowing for follow up on each session, but it is time well spent-influencing your child's life from this point to eternity. Schedule your appointment by email today.

Preteen Camp (completed grades three though six) July 26-30.

This week rocks! A time where children can get away and enjoy learning about God, camp provides kids with four fun-filled, life changing, and adventurous days. With worship, Bible study, free time, swimming, lake activities, sports, and recreation, children will build relationships with friends, leaders, and Christ. Camp makes memories for the rest of their lives. To learn more, click here.

Vacation Bible School (entering grades kindergarten through exiting fifth)

A staple in the Children's Ministry at Northside, this early event is the second full week of June. This year, June 11-15, 2012, we are going to the Seven Natural Wonders of the World at VBS! Get pumped exploringing God's awesome power as children learn to recognize and trust Him in their everyday lives. Nightly from 5:30 to 8:30p with family night on Friday. To learn more, click here.

Fall Festival (ages 2 through grade five)

On Wednesday, October 31, 2012, from 5:30 to 7:30p, Northside transforms into an rowdy and exciting party, providing a safe alternative for Halloween, complete with booths, prizes, candy, and concessions. Parental supervision required. For more information, click here.

Camp Big Enough

At the end of each summer, before children start school the youngest among us gather for Camp Big Enough. This half-day camp teaches children who are just old enough to enter "big church" all about what to expect and how to worship God with their very best. A worship center tour, time to hear and play all the instruments, interviews with the people we see in worship, and fun activities to help them worship are all a part of this day. While kids are learning about worship, parents also gather, discussing ways to help their children be successful worshipers of God. And before we go home, we share a lunch together to celebrate. The following Sunday, Camp Big Enough graduates are presented to the church, and welcomed to the worshipping family.

Summer Music Camp

Kids everywhere. In front of you. Behind you. All over the place. Over in the next room? You guessed it: kids. Over in the other building? Yep: kids. And you can hear them. Loud! No, it's not the normal sound of yelling and screaming, although you're bound to hear some of that. It's the sound of music. Kids' singing about the stories that Christ told. Adults teaching music that will be embedded deep into the hearts of those who sing it. This is innovative ministry. This is a week of fun. This is Summer Music Camp. To learn more, click here
