Glen was born in Victoria and raised here at Northside. While in high school he received his calling to ministry at the age of 17. He travled off to Texas A&M University and graduated in 1997 with a degree in Agriculture Developement. Glen also served as a Youth Intern for Central Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas during those college days for 3 years. Then on to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received a Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling and a Masters in Christian Education in 2000. While in seminary Glen spoke for Aim for Success for two years in public schools and church environments where thousands of kids learned about the rewards of abstinence and dreaming big!

Soon after seminary Glen joined the ranks of a financial planning firm and stayed with it for 5 years before taking the reigns for his ministry that was expanding and growing rapidly. Within a few years he also came of staff part-time at Northside as the Adult Education Minister primarily responsible for our 9:30 Bible Study hour. We have also launched G.O.D. University over the last two years where Faith, Experiencing God, and Financial Peace are the three core courses along with various women's, men's, and parenting courses every Fall and Spring. Glen created mantomanonline.org to further disciple men, the familyoutdoorexpo.org, and campwhetstone.org - Outfitting for Life. He is also a contributing writer for the Sportsman Devotional.com and is the author of men's Bible studies and accountability resources. Glen also is a speaker at men's, couple's, and student events mostly throughout Texas. His wife of some 13 years, Cherylnn, is also the mother of three incredible kids Allen, Bailey, and Casey. Being a pastor wasn’t the career choice Tim dreamed of while growing up in the Victoria area. Growing up on a farm and going to a small town high school, he got involved in typical small town activities – stock shows, football games and quite a bit of work on his father’s dairy farm. After graduating from Yoakum High School in 1978, he headed off to Texas A&M University to prepare for a working life in South Texas but God had some other plans.

Tim grew up in a solid Christian home with loving parents, he had to come know Jesus as savior, but college life at a large state university challenged the faith he was raised to trust. He realized if this faith was real, he had to make a choice about really living it out. During that searching time, Tim got involved with a group of students at the Baptist Student Ministry who were really serious about living out the Christian life and his life began to change. For the first time he really became a disciple of Jesus. A small group Bible study, a mission trip to the Rio Grande valley and then a summer as an agricultural missionary in Mexico working along the Rio Grande River led to even more changes as God deepened the grip on his life.

By the time graduation rolled around in May of 1982, serving God in some capacity was the only way he could see living out his life. After two years working in the Baptist Student Ministry at Texas Tech University, it was off to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He graduated from there at the end of 1988 and he has been a pastor since then serving churches in north and south Texas. Tim came to join the journey at Northside as senior pastor in January 2004.

Leading Northside to help people make a life changing connection with God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is a great challenge for Tim, but it also has a great reward. Seeing people from different backgrounds and from varying places in life come together and experience God’s love in worship each Sunday is a great joy for him and the family at Northside. Each time the church gathers, Tim strives to bring a relevant message from God’s word, knowing that God is constantly working to draw people into a relationship with Him.

The changes that a relationship with Jesus made in Tim’s life also brought other key relationships into his life. The second year of working with college students after graduation allowed him to work with his future wife, Judith. She had recently graduated from Baylor and was also on staff at the Baptist Student Ministry. They were married in 1984 while Tim was a seminary student. Five years later, they were blessed with a little girl, Kelley, who is now a student at Texas A&M and plans on one day being in ministry. Another girl, Meredith came into their lives in 1993. She is now also a student at A&M majoring in Education with a view to ministry or missions.

John Woods serves as Pastor of Music and Worship at Northside, where he provides leadership to the areas of music, the arts, worship, and liturgy. In addition to his duties in music and worship, he guides the communications ministry, developing resources to engage the church membership and community of Victoria. Before moving to South Texas, he was Minister of Music at First Baptist Church in Hamilton, Texas.

He has published worship services, presented workshops for church music and children's choir conferences, contributes to Texas Baptist publications, created devotional materials for “Celebrating Grace” hymnal, and provided leadership for worship services for groups including Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and the Center for Christian Music Studies at Baylor University.

As an ordained minister, John is passionate about the intersection of faith and music. He earned a Master of Music in Church Music with an emphasis in choral conducting from Baylor University and a Master of Divinity in Theology from George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Prior to this, he attended Baylor University and received a Bachelor of Music in Church Music.

John believes that musical style is a lame reason to separate people. He wants corporate worship — specifically that Sunday morning slot — to matter. When there’s time, John likes cluttering up his Mac, reading Dan Brown, listening to “This American Life,” traveling with his wife Lindsay and newborn Husdon, and exploring the intersection of music, faith, liturgy and community.
